This strange fever has been spreading rapidly. Families living in Firozabad fearing the fever have decided to leave to escape the illness. The Union Health Ministry sent a team of experts from the National Centre for Disease Control to go to Firozabad to investigate the matter. The team confirmed that the fever is called ‘Scrub Typhus’ and it spreads through Mites. A fever is the first sign of the sickness. It then causes headaches, fatigue, muscle ache, and joint pain. A black, scab-like patch develops at the site of the bite. If the condition worsens, it can cause mental impairment or even coma. Failure of organs such as the heart, kidney, liver, etc. is also possible.

This sickness is rapidly spreading. This new infection has now spread to Varanasi, Agra, Prayagraj, Mathura, etc. There is no vaccine to protect against this illness. The drug doxycycline is most effective when taken shortly after symptoms appear. If the condition worsens it can be very dangerous. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from 7th to 16th September has ordered health officials to go door-to-door checking citizens for coronavirus & Scrub Typhus. Health officials have been instructed to ensure there is no scarcity of medicine & medical equipment for Scrub Typhus and COVID-19. The ministry has assured help in case of shortage to ensure safety.
