The News Cover: Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the most famous and top footballers of the world. He is a fitness fanatic as even at the age of 36 he is extremely fit and handsome. Ronaldo is very popular on Instagram as he has nearly 300 million followers. He is loved by all his fans. EURO 2020 is a football tournament. Well, the tournament called Euro 2020 when it is being held in 2021? The tournament was supposed to be held in 2020 but as you know the pandemic led to its cancellation. This is why it was postponed to 2021 but has retained its title. Prior to the Portugal vs Hungary match, Cristiano Ronald attended a press conference, in Hungary's capital Budapest on 16th June. During the press conference, a table was placed in front of the media. Behind the table, there was a backdrop with the logos of the various sponsors for marketing.

Euro 2020 has many sponsors but coca-cola is the official sponsor for the tournament. Two Coca-Cola bottles were placed on the table next to the mic. Have a look at the video to see what happens once Ronaldo sits down. As you just saw, Ronaldo takes a seat in front of the media, takes the coca-cola bottles, and moves them away. He then holds a bottle of water up saying, "Agua" which means water in Portuguese. The small gesture appeared to encourage people to drink water instead of aerated drinks. He then proceeded to talk. A video of the incident went viral. Coca-Cola's share price dropped from $56.10 to $55.22 by the end of the press conference.

Because of the fall in share prices, coca-cola suffered a loss of $4 billion! A small action of moving the bottle away, led to such a major loss. How shocking! This shows Ronaldo's is very famous! Netizens praised Ronalda for encouraging healthy habits, creating awareness about water, and talking about the harmful effects of coca-cola. However, an old Coca-Cola advert has emerged showing Ronaldo wholeheartedly endorsing the brand. People are saying that Ronaldo is a hypocrite for earlier endorsing the brand and now moving the bottles away. People were shocked as to how Ronaldo could endorse the brand for money and now endorse water.

After this, there was another similar incident. One of the sponsors of Euro 2020 is the Beer company Heineken. French footballer Paul Pogba attended a press conference, and sat at the table. He then noticed a beer bottle near the mic. Have a look at this video. As you saw in the video, Pogba removes the beer bottle from the table despite Heineken being a sponsor. Pogba removed the bottle of Heineken as it clashed with his Muslim beliefs. Actually, the beer was an alcohol-free version but he still removed it because of his religious beliefs. Two football players have done the same thing.
