The News Cover: On 11th May 2021, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said people in the 18-44 age group will have to be patient and wait as now the government will focus on those over 45. This is because if vaccination continues for 18-44 age group, there will be none remaining for those above 45. This is why 18-44 years will have to wait while we vaccinate those above 45.

He said a discussion is on with the CM Uddhav Thackeray on getting more vaccines. Aaditya Thackeray said, Like other states even Maharashtra is scrambling and struggling for vaccines. We are looking at the possibility of globally procuring vaccines to meet the shortage. If we can do that, we have a roadmap to vaccinate the people of Mumbai within three weeks." Aditya also said that, earlier when we had stock very few got vaccinated because of their doubts.

Now people are eager to get the 1st & 2nd dose of the vaccine because they want to reduce the number of infections and go back to pre-COVID life. With this mentality, it would be possible to vaccinate everyone. Uddhav Thackeray has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide an alternate vaccine registeration APP instead of the Co-WIN website. As it is difficult to book a slot on the Co-WIN website. This is why he requested another APP to make registeration easy.
