The News Cover: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is conducting continuous research along with several other organizations to deal with corona. DRDO has already shocked the whole country by making 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) for use in the treatment of covid. The drug has been on the market since last Monday. This time Covid-19 antibody detection kit 'Dipcovan' is coming to the market.

As soon as this news comes out, the Ministry of Health is also seeing new light of hope in dealing with Corona. It is learned that this special kit has been developed by DRDO's Defense Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS). Vanguard Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., a Delhi-based development and production diagnostic company, has also extended a helping hand. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh lauded DRDO's efforts in times of crisis.

Researchers, meanwhile, say the Dipcovan kit can detect both the spike and nucleocapsid (S&N) proteins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus with 98 percent high sensitivity and about 99 percent certainty. Meanwhile, the antibody detection kit was approved by the ICMR in April this year. However, the trial has been going on since the last half of last year.

Meanwhile, the Deepcovan kit was approved for production and sale this month by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), CDSCO, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Meanwhile, Vanguard Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. has been given all the responsibility including sale and promotion of the kit. A commercial sale is expected to begin in the first week of June.
