We come across many videos but there are some videos that make us emotional and reminds us that life is like a gift from God. One similar video of a ballerina has gone viral now. People watching the video had tears in their eyes. The video shows Marta C Gonzalez, a ballerina who danced in the 1960s with the New York City Ballet. Marta was an accomplished ballerina and is now in an old age home in Valencia, Spain.

She can be seen listening to the Swan Lake through headphones. Swan Lake is a very old song to which Marta danced in her younger days. She was made to listen to the music to check whether the music would help revive her memory. Marta Gonzalez, died last year. She was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s causes a person to forget people and their memory is completely wiped off. This is why music was being used to help revive her memory.

A study was being done on how music impacts patients with dementia. The video has gone viral now but it was recorded before Marta died in 2019. It was released by a Spanish charity that uses music as a form of therapy for senior citizens with alzheimer's. Music is used to revive their memory and give them happiness. Pepe Olmedo, a psychologist, and director of the organization said Marta was selected because of her experience as a dancer. He said, “We listed the songs she had danced in as background dancer and also as prima ballerina.

He said, "The day when we met her, she appeared sad and she was very weak. We did not know how effective this would be. But as she listened to 'Swan Lake' she remembered her moves." It was surprising to see her completely transformed.” The viral video shows alternating scenes of Marta dancing from her wheelchair and a ballerina performing the dance on stage.

Olmedo said that science has proven that Alzheimer damages parts of the brain, but music is something that can never be forgotten. Alternating video shows both the parts of how Marta remembers the dance now and her performance when she was young. This is because music is totally linked to emotions. Music, dance, art, etc are things that are ingrained in our minds. Though Marta passed away, but her video has gone viral and struck an emotional cord with many.
